Fouch Farms - Grass-Fed Beef

Happy New Year and many blessings to you in the year to come! This year is off to a remarkable start and we have many exciting things in the works here at Fouch Farms. We’re feeling as though we weathered the storm (or lack of storms in the last few years) well and our animals and land are healthy and strong. We are working to expand our operation and double by 2018 to better serve you.
We’ve set big goals to become the Farm that you want us to be so if there is a product you want or anything that we can do better, please let us know. In addition to maintaining our Animal Welfare Approved Certification that we’ve had for the last 6 years, we’ve become Certified Grassfed, so you can be confident that our animals are well-cared for on abundant pastures.
We’re working with two butchers now, so that customers from Southern California don’t have to drive so far to pick up their meat. J&R Meats in Paso Robles comes highly recommended and has a huge variety of sausage recipes and techniques to chose from. Their price is a little higher than Sander’s in Turlock so please let us know when you order if you are interested in using them.
Recently, Jesse was interviewed for an article in a Holistic Management publication and one question that was asked was “Why did you get into farming?” The answer came easily because we have always farmed to provide good, healthy food for our family. You can be certain that, if you buy and animal from us, you are getting the very food that we are proud to fuel the bodies and minds that we love the very most.
How to purchase from Fouch Farms:
We are now taking orders for animals available in 2016. When your animal is ready we will have it slaughtered (by a certified humane slaughter) and deliver it to the butcher (who will custom cut and wrap it). The butcher will contact you directly to get your specific instructions. After that, you can pick up your meat from the butcher. We are not officially affiliated with them and a separate payment to them will be required to pick up your meat.We continue to raise heirloom breeds that fit nicely into our pasture-based farm. It is a very important part of our farm to bring back these endangered breeds and make them useful again. We are certified humane by the Animal Welfare Approved Association, which audits us annually to ensure you are getting the most humanely raised and happy animals.Fouch Farms is 100% chemical free we do not use any insecticides, herbicides, or fungicides. We do not feed or grow any GMO products.Pastured PorkOur pigs are raised outdoors on the pasture and are supplemented only with organic feed from Modesto Milling and organic sweet potato culls. Pigs will be ready in the fall after they have fattened off of the acorn crop. Our price for pigs will remain the same at $3.25/lb live weight. We have a group of pigs ready now that will be slaughtered in the next couple of weeks, so please specify if you want a fall pig or a January pig.
ChevonDue to the drought we sold a significant part of our goat herd. This year will be a rebuilding year and we will not have any for sale.
LambWe are excited to let you know we have added sheep to our operation. We have a small flock of 12 Mouflon sheep and will have lamb available for sale next year in 2017.
BeefWe have a limited amount of Dexter cattle from our herd that, as always, are 100% grass-fed and will be finished on the late Spring grasses. What sets us apart from the majority of grass- fed producers is the fact that our cattle are born in our fields, and spend their entire lives on our ranches. We produce our own natural hay, and therefore know for a fact that our animals have never consumed any chemicals, hormones, or GMO feeds. We are certified humane and grassfed by Animal Welfare Approved, and treat our cattle with the dignity they deserve. Prices will be the same as last year at $3.00 per pound liveweight. Beef will be ready around June depending on rainfall.
